|But my righteous one will live by faith…Hebrews 10.38|This is a scripture that’s very common, widely used by people and quoted.Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith,Its not enough to start with Jesus and then just put him aside and live our lives, finishing with with our own effort and righteousness. Its about starting with faith in Jesus, living, moving in Him and finishing in Him.So the just/righteous(those who are born again) should continue living every part of their life in faith in Jesus. This is something worth understanding and using in a marriage. We need to depend on Jesus and believe Him to lead us in our marriages.Yesterday we prayed about the husband being the head of the family and the wife being a helper. But how can a husband be the head of his wife when he is not letting Christ be his head and not living by faith in Him.“Now I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God 1 Corinthians 11:3 CEB|One can only be able to lead his family in the way of God if he is allowing Christ to also lead him.It would be pointless to try and be a helper to a husband who is not headed by Christ. How can He know the will of God for his life and find his purpose if he doesn’t spend time with the Father.Pray that your fh/husband desires to spend time with God and allow Christ to lead him.
A man is to lead his family spiritually, pray that your fh/husband may be able to lead your family in bringing your children to Christ.Pray that even if he has never had a role model in his life(most men didn’t see their fathers leading the family spiritually),someone who mentored him on how to lead his family, that he may look to Christ as his example.
A man is to lead his family financially. He should have a plan on how he will be able to provide for his family.Pray that he may get multimillionaire ideas. There are so many things that haven’t been discovered that can make him rich.Pray that God drops these ideas in his head.Pray that may he have a plan and be willing to work towards achieving his goals.
A man is to lead his wife to be the best God created her to be.He is to bring out the best in her.He is to lead her to achieve her dreams and not bring her down.He is to nourish her and prepare her to achieve big things in life.Pray that your fh/husband won’t feel intimidated by your success but actually celebrate you.Pray that he may be secure in Christ.|“As for husbands, love your wives just like Christ loved the church and gave himself for her. He did this to make her holy by washing her in a bath of water with the word. He did this to present himself with a splendid church, one without any sort of stain or wrinkle on her clothes, but rather one that is holy and blameless. That’s how husbands ought to love their wives—in the same way as they do their own bodies. Anyone who loves his wife loves himself. No one ever hates his own body, but feeds it and takes care of it just like Christ does for the church because we are parts of his body.”Ephesians 5:25-30|
Pray that your fh/husband may spend time with God up to a point that his desires are God’s will for his life. When a person spends time with God,he starts seeing things the way God sees them,God puts desires in him and he is able to see his desires manifest because God grants him the desires of his heart.|“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.”Psalm 37:4 AMPC|
Pray that your husband may be able to depend on Christ as his head and cast all the pressures that come with being the head of the family to Christ.May he not depend on his own strength and effort to lead but may he depend on Christ.|“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].1 PETER 5:6-7 AMP|
